Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals WordPress Website Design
Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals is rooted in the healing power of nature. Based in Nelson, B.C., Canada, business owner and herbalist, Patrick Kooyman, wanted his website to reflect the energy that grows in the wild. That’s where I came in!
I worked with Patrick to create a friendly, information-forward WordPress website design with striking imagery that provided an opportunity to connect with his audience.
Testimonials, as authentic endorsements from satisfied customers, serve as potent social proof, significantly inspiring trust in potential consumers.

Key Features for Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals’ Website
In addition to customization of a responsive WordPress theme, the Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals website incorporates three key features: a custom newsletter subscription form, a dynamic event feed, and personalized tutorial videos.
Custom Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals Newsletter Subscription Form
A smart practice for small businesses to grow and engage with their audience is to capture their emails in a prominent, easy-to-use newsletter sign up form.
For the Blue Lotus Ethnobotanicals site, I set up the form in their MailChimp account and created a custom HTML form styled to their site.
As a result, users can quickly and easily sign up for the newsletter on their home and contact pages.
Dynamic Event Feed and Template
Patrick was looking to display his herbal healing events in a way that was easy for participants to find and register. The backend of this page also needed to be simple and intuitive enough for him to implement on his own without needing to know any coding languages.
To address these needs, I created a dynamic post feed that automatically updates his events page when new event posts are added. All Patrick has to do, is duplicate the event post template I created for him, add the event details, and the rest is like magic!

Personalized Tutorial Videos
Being new to WordPress, Patrick needed an easy way to keep track of all the features he can update on his site.
In response, I created personalized tutorial videos and template posts.
The videos show step-by-step how to use the custom templates and sign up form. Patrick will be able access to these videos any time he needs to refresh his memory.
